In this episode of the Junior Librarian podcast, Avari introduces teens to an exciting opportunity at the Wagnalls Memorial Library - the Ink and Stone teen literary journal. Avari shares the submission guidelines, encouraging teens aged 13-19 to submit their original flash fiction, short stories, nonfiction essays, and poems. The selected pieces will be published in a journal available for purchase on Amazon and as a free PDF on the Wagnalls website. Authors included in the journal will receive a physical copy of the journal and retain the rights to their work, making this a fantastic chance for aspiring teen writers to showcase their talent.

Welcome to the Junior Librarian podcast. This podcast is written for kids, by kids to help them learn more about the Wagnalls Memorial Library. Hello. My name is Avery, and welcome to the Junior Librarians podcast. Are you a teen who likes to write or is even interested in becoming an author? Well, if so, then Wagonals has the perfect opportunity for you. Ink and Stone. Ink and Stone is a brand new teen literary journal. This year, area teens ages 13 through 19 can submit their original writing to be produced by the Wagnalls Memorial Library staff.

Here are the submission guidelines. Teens may submit flash fiction, up to 500 words, short stories, nonfiction essays, and poems, up to a 1000 words. Each person may enter 2 pieces of writing. It doesn't have to be a new piece. All entries must be submitted by March 31, 2024. All entries are encouraged to be family friendly. The completed journal will be available for purchase on Amazon and freely available as a PDF on the Wagnalls website on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024. Those chosen for Ink and Stone will receive a free copy.
